About Us – Italian Sublime Food

There is a moment, in every Italian kitchen, when everything stops.

The water reaches its boil. Someone lowers the flame under the sauce. A hand reaches for the bottle of oil that has been sitting on the same shelf for as long as anyone can remember. Nobody speaks about quality, provenance or certification. They simply know, the way you know the voice of a person you love, that what is about to reach the table is right.

Italian Sublime Food was born from the desire to carry that moment beyond the borders of Italy, intact.

Who we are

We are a company that selects, imports and delivers the authentic food heritage of Italy to homes and tables across the United Kingdom and Europe. But describing ourselves as an importer would be reductive, and frankly a little dishonest. What we really do is choose. Every single day, among thousands of possibilities, we choose the few products that deserve to travel.

Behind our catalogue there are no anonymous industrial groups. There are families. There are pasta makers who still extrude their dough through bronze dies and let it dry slowly for days, because they know that speed is the enemy of flavour. There are farmers in Basilicata who press their olives within hours of harvest, when the fruit still carries the scent of the field. There are cheesemakers in the Sienese hills who age their pecorino with saffron, following a method that predates the country they live in. There are fishermen and preservers along the Sicilian coast who work the palamita by hand, one fish at a time, exactly as their grandfathers did.

We know their names. We have walked through their workshops. We have eaten at their tables. And when we tell you that a product is exceptional, it is because we have tasted it ourselves, more than once, in the season it belongs to.
