We are in the pristine hills of Basilicata rich in essences and herbs, all of which contribute to making it an even more special product. A honey that respects the bees. It all begins with the work of the tireless worker bees who transport nectar and honeydew into the hive. Which are stored in special cells. When the honey reaches a low moisture level, it is operculated, that is, the bees close the cells with wax. At this point the honey is ripe, ready to be harvested.The honeycombs are then extracted, which is followed by uncapping, honey extraction (in which a special machine called an extractor is used). Filtering (in which all residual parts of wax and any other material that may be left inside the honey is blocked and removed). It is then decanted, followed by foaming, potting and storage. All these operations are carried out in the company’s laboratory. The company, by its own business ethics, prefers not to use any invasive techniques on the honey. It lets the crystallization process take place as per the natural physiological process.
The result is a honey with an amber color and a sweet, intense flavor.
