– Amarena di Cantiano represents the iconic product of the town of Cantiano, on the border between Marche and Umbria. Following a recipe from the early 1900s, the Morello Austera farm gives life to a sour cherry syrup that respects the peasant and artisan traditions of the time, keeping the production methods unchanged, from the cultivation of the orchards to the processing of the finished product. Little known outside the Marche region, the sour cherry is picked at full maturity around mid-June, cleaned and pitted. What sets the company’s processing process apart is dripping, a traditional method that allows every single drop of the fruit to be harvested. In this way, the mixture retains all the flavors and sugary aroma of the Marche sour cherry. After skillful and delicate processing, the berries end their lives in the jar with their own syrup, composed of nothing but sugar, lemon zest and carob flour. With no preservatives or added additives, Morello Austera Amarena cherries are a healthy and wholesome example of sour cherries in syrup, with a traditional flavor that dates back more than 100 years. Ingredients: Sour cherries, Sugar, Sour cherry juice, Agar Agar, Tara gum, Almond oil, Citrus peel Spices.
