Traditional interpretation of a great vineyard: structure and elegance for a wine with great character. Barbaresco Rabajà is our most important wine, with an ethereal, pleasant and intense bouquet with details of freshness that evolve into hints of spices, leather and underbrush with age; dry, full and robust flavor with a rich and harmonious structure; garnet red color. Grape variety: 100% nebbiolo. Area: in Barbaresco, 4 hectares in “Rabajà” area, south, southwest exposure. Altitude: 235/315 m asl. Soil: calcareous-clayey. Vineyard age: about 50 years. Training system and density: guyot, 4000 plants/hectare. Yield/hectare: 60 quintals. Production: about 17,000 bottles. Harvest: by hand. Vinification: about 30 days of fermentation in old cement vats. Aging: 20/22 months in Slavonian oak barrels ranging in size from 17 to 25 hectoliters, at least 5/6 years old. Minimum 10 months in bottle before release.
