Whole wheat Casareccia is a short pasta shape, perfect for holding sauces and condiments. In particular, the whole wheat version is recommended for pairing with vegetables and Asian dishes with soy sauce, fish, and white meat sauces. Farro boasts ancient origins. Specifically, Farro Dicocco (Triticum dicoccum), which we have carefully and passionately selected, was cultivated as early as the 6th millennium BC in Egypt and was later imported to Italy, right on these hills, where it was cultivated by the Ancient Romans. Today, as then, our farro dicocco is hulled and stone-milled to preserve its flavor and nutritional qualities. Farro has a unique flavor, unlike any other pasta you’ve ever tasted, pleasant on the palate and profound on the nose, thanks to its unmistakable hazelnut notes, making it a healthy and delicious alternative for experimenting with new recipes that showcase authentic, flavorful ingredients.
