-One of the most iconic and representative wines of our region, known throughout the world for its sweet flavors. Sour cherry wine is made by expertly adding sour cherries and sugar to red wine, creating a perfect combination of flavors that will enchant your taste buds. Of an intense ruby color, it has a strong hint of black cherry with notes of banana and spicy cocoa that remains dry on the palate but with a fine aftertaste of bitter almond. The Morello Austera company in Cantiano makes its products using traditional local processing methods that preserve their nutritional and flavorful properties. This particular wine can be enjoyed paired with tarts, dry desserts, dark chocolate and blue cheeses, served at a temperature of 8-10°C. It is also excellent as an aperitif served at a temperature of 4°C. In addition to sour cherry wine, among the other sour cherry-based products you shouldn’t miss the jam and Cantiano black cherry.
