RED MONTALCINO CAMPO AI SASSI CASTELGIOCONDO V22 – Bruno Dalmazio

Frescobaldi ‘s Rosso di Montalcino Campo ai Sassi is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes grown on the CastelGiocondo estate in Montalcino (SI), at an average altitude of 300 meters above sea level. The original vineyards grow on very deep, calcareous, calcareous, and sandstone soils, rich in calcium and clay, which give the wines their aromas and refined personality. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel for 12 days at a temperature below 30°C. The wine was aged for 12 months in wood: partly in 80- and 100-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels and partly in barriques. Before being released, the wine rested for an additional 4 months in bottle.
ROSSO DI MONTALCINO CAMPO AI SASSI FRESCOBALDI: THE TASTING
Frescobaldi’s Rosso di Montalcino Campo ai Sassi seduces the eye with its intense ruby red color. On the nose, it releases aromas of violet, blackberry, and ripe red berries, intertwined with mineral and lightly spicy notes. The palate is full and balanced, supported by a gentle freshness and smooth tannins that enhance its elegance. The long finish plays on fruity notes. It pairs well with cured meats and aged cheeses, as well as with dishes based on red meats and game.
