A blend of fragrant fruit notes and balsamic spices, the 2017 Brunello’s bouquet is initially rather timid, gradually revealing the breadth and depth of its aromatic elegance. Among the red berries, notes of red cherry stand out, accompanied by intriguing hints of white pepper, dried tobacco leaves, licorice root, and citrus zest. On the palate, its fruity core is surprisingly fragrant and displays an enviable balance between fine-textured tannins and crisp acidity. Refreshing. The finish is savory, long, and enveloping with subtle hints of thyme and rosemary.
Vinification: The 2017 Brunello was vinified in glass-lined concrete vats using indigenous yeasts from our vineyards. It was then aged for 24-30 months in Slavonian oak barrels. Climate: A year marked by a lack of rain. In spring, we saw a late frost followed by scant rainfall and moderate temperatures. Temperatures rose significantly above seasonal averages at the end of May. The summer was very hot and dry. Harvest began on September 11th.
