BRUNELLO PERTIMALI V18 – Bruno Dalmazio

The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG from the Sassetti Livio Pertimali winery is produced with Sangiovese grapes from vineyards located in Montosoli. This area, north of Montalcino, is particularly suited to growing Brunello. The family has renovated the vineyards over time, while preserving the genetic heritage of ancient vines to protect their characteristics. The soils are medium-textured and rich in limestone and clay, and the microclimate is characterized by optimal temperature ranges and ideal temperatures for the vines’ optimal development. Manual grape harvesting is followed by temperature-controlled vinification. Fermentation takes place in steel vats, and maceration lasts up to 10 days to extract aromas, flavors, and color. This Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is aged for three years in Sassonia barrels, followed by a further six months of bottle aging. The color is intense ruby red, with aromas of ripe red fruit and spices. Very elegant and structured on the palate, with good acidity and pleasant, soft tannins. A wine that immediately expresses its character and personality but can further evolve if left to rest in the cellar for many years. Temperature: 18-20 °C; Pairings: Roasted or grilled meat, Mature cheeses, Game; Longevity: This wine is ready to be tasted now, with great satisfaction; however, it has qualities that allow it to evolve and refine over time, if properly stored, for at least another 7-8 years. Type: Red Wine; Origin: Tuscany; Denomination: Brunello di Montalcino DOCG; Grapes: 100% Sangiovese Grosso; Production philosophy: Traditional; Aging: in large wooden barrels for 36 months and bottle; Vintage: 2018; Alcohol content: 14.0%; Format: 75 cl bottle; Notes: Contains sulphites.
